Firstly, please save the date for our Annual General Meeting: 3pm on 20th November (online via Zoom). This is a great opportunity to review everything that the BHAA has been up to in the last year and discuss what you, as a member, want to see from the BHAA in 2023.
In addition, we’ll be holding elections for new Directors i.e. the Board of the BHAA. Each Director is elected for a 3 year term. If you’re interested in learning more about joining the Board then please get in touch with our Chair, Becca Sweetman: firstname.lastname@example.org
The rough timeline is as follows:
– 15th September: open Board meeting – any member who is interested in joining the Board is welcome to join to learn more about the roles & responsibilities of the Board
– October: nominations for Board members will open
– early November: members will vote for who they wish to join the Board
– 20th November: results announced at the AGM
The Board is supported by Committee members who help with specific areas e.g. events, safeguarding, membership enquiries. Do consider if there’s something you’d like to contribute and we’ll be sending out more information closer to the AGM. Many Directors take on a Committee position initially before becoming a Director as it’s a good way to learn more about the running of the BHAA.
